| Description |
Short Song Description:
Conservation and native american values coming to life through a spirit.
|
Long Song Description:
I was thinking of sitting around an ancient native amereican campsite and I asked myself what would they tell me if they could come to life? So I wrote this song about native american ghosts giving us advise. The 'river that remained unchanged" is the Yellowstone River- the longest undammed river in the lower 48.
|
Story Behind the Song:
I have written a concept album about wilderness conservation...I think John Denvers ideas need to be sustained through music, but not copying his style.

| Lyrics |
There were horses, wild as the hair on their mane
And I heard voices of indians that died on the plains
They spoke of a river, a river that remained unchanged
So I felt hope, hope for the people of today
(CHORUS)
Say a prayer for the wild, that the wild may run
Like there's no tomorrow, into the setting sun
So stand up and be counted if there's a battle to be won
Say a prayer for the wild that the wild may run
There were campfires and chips from a knife made of stone
Under barbed wire, the land was now something to own
And they danced around me, they said save some of those seeds that you've sown
And the rain fell on me, then those spirits, they left me alone
CHORUS
TAG: Say a prayer for, for the wild, please say a prayer for , for the wild
Say a prayer for the, say a prayer for the, say a prayer for the...for the wild
