Song about religous leaders who take advantage of followers who cannot think for themselves.
|
Story Behind the Song:
When I was growing up a preacher moved to town and totally changed the lives of one of my friend's family. Took their records and tapes and burned them, wouldn't let their kids go to dances and taught the parents how to "rebuke" their children....wierd.

| Lyrics |
Well he blew in with the westwind started throwing verses around
Said he'd cleans them all of their sins hand on the bible stood on holy ground
Rightously so wrong, Rightously so wrong
Then stubborn old Jim finally gave in, he brought his wife and his two sons
And by the very next Sunday, why that preacher had them speaking in tongues
Then he took their music, you know rock and roll swings satin's sword
Threw it in a bonfire to burn in the name of the Lord
Collection plates overflowing then that preacher, he left town without warning
Rightously so wrong, rightously so wrong
White sheets, cover faces
Rope on that tree
Crusades, through the ages
You ain't gonna get, you ain't gonna get me
Now that squinty-eyed man on the T.V. he's prayin hard for my soul
He's trying to make me feel guilty for not giving him the money he thinks I owe
Now I've been robbed and I've been cheated by big business and uncle sam
But I ain't gonna take this, from some smooth talkin holy man who's gone
Rightously so wrong, Rightously so wrong.....
